This photo is a photo of a honey bee with pollen from a dandelion on her legs.If you look closely you'll notice her tongue is hanging out. She's dead, from the weed killer that was sprayed on the dandelion patches.
It's spring and dandelions are the largest source of food for the bees.
We see dandelions as weeds; bees see dandelions as food.
Please don't spray weeds until you see blackberries blooming (they're primary source of food when available).
There are far more weeds than flowers or fruit trees, so for some time dandelions may be a bee's only source of food.
No bees, no crops, no food.
